Pasquale Rotella has always discussed the possibility of having another dance music festival in Las Vegas to complement Electric Daisy Carnival, something on a smaller scale but still relevant to the destination and the audience.
“Why not bring something completely different at the end of the summer or in six months? [from EDC], or something like that? ”he said in a 2017 Las Vegas weekly maintenance. “People in the dance community want to go to Vegas more than once a year, and they do. There is so much music there.
That Something Different will arrive at the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center on September 4-5, seven weeks before the rescheduled EDC 2021 returns at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Rotella’s company Insomniac this week announced the inaugural Lost in Dreams music festival and today unveiled the lineup for the two-day outdoor event focused on future musical genres of bass, melodic dubstep and electronic pop. Gryffin, Seven Lions, Chet Porter, Yung Bae, Elephante, Manilla Killa, SG Lewis, Washed Out and Crystal Skies are among the DJ groups.
“Transcending in a multidimensional environment of light, color and sound, Lost in Dreams will offer a one-of-a-kind visual and immersive festival experience,” the ad read. Festival ticket sales will begin on Friday June 4 at noon at Lostindreamsfestival.com.
Insomniac recently produced the first live event at the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center in over a year, a May 21 concert with Deadmau5. The partnership continued with a Factory 93 event the following night and last weekend’s Dreamstate event with Paul Oakenfold on May 28.
Insomniac continues its return to live dance music events this weekend in Phoenix, Arizona, and Orlando, Florida, with the Forbidden Kingdom Festival on June 11-12. EDC, postponed three times from its original May 2020 dates, will finally return to Las Vegas from October 22-24.
