Liverpool have launched their new Nike away kit for the 2022/23 season, which is inspired by the music of the city and in particular the dance music of the 90s.
“Playing at their own pace, Liverpool’s away shirt recalls a time when their clubs ruled the world,” the club said.
The white base color features an iridescent multicolored pattern, which is complemented by black cuffs. The back of the jersey is a block of white so that the names and numbers of the players stand out. The matching away goalkeeper kit is completely black.
The style of the letters and numbers on the back, which will be used in cup competitions outside the Premier League and WSL, is a contemporary take on historic Liverpool street signs.
The new jersey will be worn for the first time by the men’s team against Manchester United in a pre-season friendly in Bangkok on Tuesday.
“We are thrilled for the fans to see Nike’s new away kit,” captain Jordan Henderson said. “It’s not often we wear a shirt on reveal day, so it will be a special moment for the team to show off the new design in our first pre-season game.”
As part of the launch material, women’s team players Melissa Lawley, Katie Stengel and Leanne Kiernan joined men’s team players Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota, Roberto Firmino, Ibrahima Konate, Harvey Elliott, Joel Matip, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Thiago Alcantara and Tyler Morton. .
