Madonna and Jimmy Fallon donned glow-in-the-dark jumpsuits Thursday night for a neon dance battle on Tonight’s show. With the show’s house band The Roots providing a funky beat, Fallon managed to stand up to the Queen of Pop in the contest, which you can see in full below.

In her interview with Fallon, Madonna spoke about his next small theater shows , which includes a 17-night residency at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, and remembers being pissed off (and a little flirty) when Fallon introduced her to President Barack Obama the last time she was on Tonight’s show. “You’re the only reason I’m doing this,” she reportedly told the former president backstage.

Madonna started the discussion on the couch by putting Roots Questlove’s drummer on the spot, asking if he was mad at her during the dance segment, then forcing him to reveal whether she or Fallon was the better dancer.

“Your physical comedy is unprecedented,” she told Fallon. “Is that what you call my dance?” Physical comedy? Fallon retaliated. “A good actor should be able to dance. You need a new hairdresser, but that’s another story, ”she said. The couple’s chemistry was clearly visible, with Madonna also teasing Fallon about his ‘manly’ beard and powder blue tie, which led to a spontaneous duet on George Gershwin’s classic ‘Summertime’.

Wearing a dazzling short dress accented by a black hat with a veil with the word “art” embroidered in red, the singer gave Fallon a cha-cha lesson, inviting everyone in the studio to dance with her. And, in fact, Madonna wore her veil because the two jokingly decided they were going to get married. “I have to talk to my wife and figure this out,” Fallon said.

“The more marriage I have, the shorter my veil,” Madonna retorted, before leading the audience in a cha-cha dance, inspired by her song “Medellín” with Maluma.

Madonna has released her highly anticipated new album Madame X June 14. She recently performed her song ‘Future’ with Migos’ Quavo at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019.
