JAMMU, December 25: The Cultural Center of the North Zone, Patiala (Ministry of Culture, Government of India) and the Academy of Arts, Culture and Languages ââof Jammu and Kashmir jointly organize five days of âNational Folk Dance Festivalâ from December 26 at the Abhinav Theater, here.
It was leaked by the director of the North Zone Cultural Center, Patiala, Professor Saubaghya Vardhan to people in the media here today, where artists from Jammu and Kashmir, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, from Odisha, Punjab, Assam, Tripura, Maharashtra, Telengana and Haryana will participate in the upcoming event. “In order to continue this tradition, programs of folk dance, folk music, folk instruments and folk theater will be organized during the five days of the festival,” he added.
Professor Saubhagya said that this festival will feature folk dances from different parts of India. âThe festival is part of our efforts to bring together tribal artists from different parts of the country. It is a way of preserving the great cultural traditions of India, âhe said.
He said the programs would be held in Jammu, Reasi and Samba while the main program would be held in Abhinav Theater Jammu. âJammu and Kashmir has rich tribal traditions and artists need a platform to show their talent,â he said.
“Such festivals are an important aspect in raising awareness among the locals of India’s rich tribal traditions and helping tribal artists gain the necessary visibility,” Prof. Saubhagya said, adding that we were grateful to the government in Jammu. -and Kashmir UT, in particular the Cultural Academy. for supporting our initiative. âNow we hope people will also support our efforts and encourage artists,â he said.
