Ahead of its premiere on September 7, KBS 2TV’s teenage dance fight program “Dancing High” released a preview of the show’s first recording along with more details on how the show works.

“Dancing High” is not a survival program, but a dance combat program. Teams of teenage dancers will take the stage to compete, aided in their performances by one of the five dance coaches: Just Jerk (Young-J and J-Ho), Lee Gi Kwang, Lee Ho Won (Hoya), Lee Seung Hoon, Lia Kim.

More than 3,000 teens auditioned to join the show, with 43 crews (including individuals) doing the final cut. The first episode will show the process of the coaches evaluating the dancers and selecting their teams.

The young dancers of “Dancing High” aren’t necessarily looking to make their debut in the entertainment industry. On the contrary, they have a hunger and a passion for dancing and are ready to put their abilities to the test. The show will feature dancers with foundations in a wide variety of different styles including vogueing, break, waacking, lockdown, urban dance, K-pop, and more, which will add a level of complexity and strategy for coaches in forming their teams.

The unique performances that will emerge from these teams along with the chemistry and teamwork between coaches and dancers will be just one of the many pleasures for viewers listening to the show. “Dancing High” premieres on September 7 at 11 p.m. KST and will be available on Viki.
